Worry Dolls

 “Worry dolls, also known as trouble dolls, are tiny hand-crafted dolls that originated from Guatemala. According to local legend, they have the power to take away trouble by worrying for you while you sleep”

 

In the dolls original Guatemalan tradition, a local legend about the origin of the Muñeca quitapena refers to a Maya princess named Ixmucane. The princess received a special gift from the sun god which would allow her to solve any problem a human could worry about.[3]

. If you tell your worries to the dolls at night before you go to sleep, tuck them under your pillow, they will do all the worrying for you. Their story is in print for you to read inside the box.

All our worry dolls are produced in Guatemala in various co – operative villages. These dolls are hand made by female groups and co – ops to raise funds for local villages. The money eared provides much needed funds basic necessities, and local projects within their communities.

All worry dolls are handmade ethically following fair trade practice.
